When she was thirteen years old, she was enrolled in a martial arts class by her mother, which was a new beginning for Michaels. Thereafter she dedicated herself to helping the overweight transform their lives and their bodies for the better.

Michaels explained to one Twitter follower she is still early in the adoption process, what she refers to as the home study stage. She also told followers that her rise to fame on telvision had not broken her, “rather shooting Losing It had a big impact on me,” she Tweeted. “Living with kids I saw first hand what I was missing.”

During her time working with the NBC reality shows, Michaels has helped hundreds across the country, and right here in Tennessee, lose weight and get healthy.
