That was the scariest events when the civil war happened in 36 years that in 1982, 201 peoples in Dos Erres, Guatemala, were massacre. It was the most hideous when 4 people should punished in jail for 6,060 years sentence.
The 66,060 years sentence gave to the 4 people former soldiers from 210 peoples on Tuesday. A researcher of Central America at Amnesty International, Sebastian Elgueta described that it was a landmark sentence which sent a message of “justice” for a lot of thousands who fell victim in human-rights abuses when Guatemala’s civil war from 1960 to 1996.
The defendants of 6,060 years sentence explained that they aren’t guilty. They are Lt. Carlos Antonio Carias and Special Forces soldiers Manuel Pop Sun, Reyes Collin Gualip and Daniel Martinez. They received punishment includes 30 years for each victim and 30 years crimes for against humanity.
About 20 special military unit members and Guatemalan military were killed men, women and children in Dos Erres for 3 days in 1982. They also tortured them before killed them.
